Cwmbach Community Wetlands is a project which has the community at its heart. It was set up during 2020 when it was brought to the community’s attention that two cygnets had been killed on purpose. We made it our mission to ensure that this would never happen again and we pledged to purchase the 27 acres of natural wetland on our doorstep in order to protect all that lives there for the community and for future generations. Not only is this an area of outstanding natural beauty, it is also a natural floodplain, which prevents the surrounding areas from flooding, something which has been an increasing issue in the Valleys over the past decade. It is essential that is area is protected and preserved for the community, the wildlife and the environment. All profits raised will be donated directly to the Community Benefit Society in order to support their aim to purchase and protect the area.

Mae Gwlyptiroedd Cymunedol Cwmbach yn brosiect sydd â'r gymuned wrth ei chalon. Fe'i sefydlwyd yn ystod 2020 pan dynnwyd sylw'r gymuned at y ffaith fod dau o elyrch bach wedi eu lladd ar bwrpas. Fe wnaethom benderfyniad pwysig i sicrhau na fyddai hyn byth yn digwydd eto trwy geisio prynu'r 27 erw o wlyptir naturiol sydd ar stepen ein drws, er mwyn diogelu'r holl fywyd gwyllt sy'n trigo yno i'r gymuned ac i genedlaethau'r dyfodol. Nid yn unig mae hon yn ardal o harddwch naturiol eithriadol, mae hefyd yn orlifdir naturiol, sy'n gwarchod yr ardaloedd cyfagos rhag llifogydd, rhywbeth sydd wedi bod yn broblem gynyddol yn y Cymoedd dros y degawd diwethaf. Mae'n hanfodol bod yr ardal yn cael ei diogelu a'i chadw ar gyfer y gymuned, lles y bywyd gwyllt a lles yr amgylchedd. Bydd yr holl elw sy'n cael ei godi yn cael ei roi yn uniongyrchol i'r Gymdeithas Budd Cymunedol er mwyn cefnogi eu nod i brynu a gwarchod yr ardal.
